Saltaire Crawl - Ring O'Bells, Rosse & Tramshed
Local CAMRA Beer Festivals:
The 2006 Pub of The Year award follows quick on the heels of the Junction receiving the branch's Winter Pub of The Season Award too.
Other contenders were 2005 winner Haigy's (Bradford) together with the Bar T'at (Ilkley), Riverside Hotel (Ilkley) & Fighting Cock (Bradford).
It should be noted that together with last years winner each contender had been voted as a Pub Of the Season by the branch over the last 12 months so whilst there could only be one winner they can all be relied upon to provide a wide range of quality beers. Make sure you visit them all !
Ring O Bells, Harrogate Road/Pullan Avenue
A second planning application for the demolition of the Public House to be replaced by a "Co-Op" store was approved, the pub is now gone and a prefabricated Co-Op
was put up within 24 Hours almost !
Melbourne, White Abbey Road
Sad news at the end of 2005 was that Eamon confirmed it had been sold and closed in the New Year. It is said that the
new owners have indicateed they would like to retain the licence which may suggest the property will used as a
restaurant however no immediate development appears to have taken place.
Well known as a local Music venue the pub has been home to the The Topic Folk club and has been used the Branch for accomodation duing the annual Real Ale Holiday. The Art-Deco exterior is a one off within the city.
Cock & Bottle news
Pretty much the best news we could ever of received about the C&B back in 2005 was that it had been purchased by the William Greenwood
Brewing Co. of Thornton. It reopened in July 2005 and whilst the plans for a brewing facility on site have not materialised (Greenwoods no
longer brew either) the C&B continues to have a range of beers on offer and is a must for any Real Ale fan visiting the City. See
our web page of the Cock & Bottle for more information.
Malcom Tofts Bradford Real Beer News is regularly updated with local news.

Published by the Branch four/six'ish times each year and available from many pubs selling Real Ale in the area.
The spring of 1998 saw David Boothroyd return as Editor and all editions have been very well received. It has since received several awards so the hard work put in by all those involved has not got unnoticed. Recent editions of Tyke Taverner are in the process of being made available here on the web site. Please check for the latest uploads.

All remaining stocks now gone I'm afraid.
I do not know if a new edition is planned at all at this stage.
